Thess IC was established in January of 2020. It was a long term goal by two of the founding members to establish an ASIC design company in their home town of Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. The team that established Thess IC was working together in Central Europe, designing mixed signal products. After many years working abroad, gaining experience and learning about different working environments and design flows, the team was looking for an opportunity to establish a design center in Thessaloniki. At the same time, Cortus – www.cortus.com – was expanding across the globe. It was the perfect timing and a very good technical match. The extensive proprietary processors IP portfolio of Cortus was the solid foundation for the team to build innovative and state of the art IoT controllers. With the addition of two experienced digital designers, the formation of Thess IC was completed on January 15th 2020.
Since that day, Thess IC is growing fast by adding talented graduates from the Greek Universities and repatriating senior designers. With the tremendous support of the Cortus management, Thess IC owns a complete measurement and characterization lab, brought PCB design capabilities in house and executing an aggressive road map.
